The team at Olivia’s Special Horses are extremely passionate about their work and get huge pleasure from seeing the positive results that the therapy provides. 

Emma Donoghue


Emma is the founding member and manager of Olivia's Special Horses. She set up the charity in memory of her daughter, Olivia, who passed away at the age of 11 in February 2014. Having worked with horses for 18 years in various areas of the industry, it was her daughter’s love of horses and the outdoor life that led Emma to train as a Therapeutic Riding Coach.  Since Olivia passed Emma wants to share her knowledge, skills and experience to help other children and adults with special needs. 

Denise Sadlier

Child Protection Officer

Denise is a mother of one, both Denise and her daughter volunteer at Olivia’s Special Horses. Denise is a member of the board of Olivia’s Special Horses and is trained as a Child Protection Officer in addition to being fully qualified as an Accredited Counsellor & Psychotherapist (Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy-MIACP). She is also a Volunteer Youth Leader with Foroige Youth Club.
